Mrs. Sue Hilton
Welcome to Fourth Grade! I am so happy to be a part of our wonderful Lewis-Palmer Elementary School community. I have spent the last thirteen years teaching second and third grade at L-PES and this will be my first year teaching fourth grade. I graduated from Wayne State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. I worked on a neuro-trauma unit for twelve years as a registered nurse before going back to school to obtain my teaching degree in elementary education. I have four children, and all of them have graduated from the Lewis-Palmer School District. Playing tennis, hiking, reading, and spending time with my family and friends are all things I enjoy in my free time.
I am so excited to be teaching fourth grade this year. It is a time of tremendous growth both socially and academically. I love working with children and strive to make learning fun and engaging. This year, the fourth graders will have an opportunity to backpack through our amazing state of Colorado. We will collect artifacts along the way as we learn about Colorado's Story. Our students will start by exploring the geography of the state. We will then travel back in time to learn about Colorado history. The fourth graders will finish their journey by examining modern Colorado and current issues facing our state. This is just one of the many exciting learning adventures your child will embark on this year.
