Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Edi Pettegrew

Hello! I am thrilled to be on staff at LPES! I bring 10 years of primary classroom experience to 3rd grade. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Organizational Management and a Master's Degree in Elementary Education. I am especially passionate about whole child teaching, child development, literacy, and creative hands-on learning activities! Third grade is a wonderful year for our students and I work diligently to tap into their natural curiosity for learning.

I live just down the road in Woodmoor and love sharing this district with my own children. My family loves to mountain bike, hike, travel, and spend time enjoying the mountains. In my free time I enjoy photography and blogging.

If you have any questions about our classroom or LPES please contact me via email.
Welcome to 3rd grade! Let's have fun learning together!

Welcome to 3rd Grade!

  • 3rd Grade Facts

Monday through Thursday your child will have homework. It is usually spelling practice, math, reading, and math facts. Homework details and activities will be accessed and available in our Google Classroom.

    Student of the Week

Each week our class will have a Student of the Week. On the preceding Friday, one student will get a special "It's All about About me" Flyer in their Friday Folder. That lets you know they are the upcoming Student of the Week. They will be given several special classroom privileges. They are encouraged to fill out the "All About Me" flyer, bring it back to share along with one show and tell item. Each student will get a turn to be student of the week in 3rd grade.

    Friday folders

Friday folders come home the last day of every week. They are full of completed classwork, tests, and information from LPES that needs to go home. It is important to get into the habit of checking Friday folders each week. They should be returned the first day of the following week so I can prepare them again. There is no need to sign the back of the folder, please empty the contents of the folder each week though.

    Classroom Snacks and Water Bottles

Please provide your child with a SPILL PROOF water bottle each day. Please only water.

Third Graders have two optional snack opportunities a day. One snack is in the morning the other in the afternoon, they are completely optional. If your child wishes to have a snack during our designated times please make sure their snacks are healthy and nut-free (no yogurt or sweets please!)
