Mrs. Sarah Carlile

Exceptional Student Services Teacher

Welcome to LPES Exceptional Student! I am excited to be starting my 7th year at LPES as the Moderate Needs Teacher. I have worked in special education for 9 years and have my Masters degree in Special Education. My undergraduate program was at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and I am a HUGE Huskers fan! I understand that your child comes to me with unique experiences, interests and learning styles.  My goal is to truly know your child well and use this knowledge to guide, support and motivate them. I believe that good teaching requires continual professional development, personal reflection and collaboration. I value parent involvement and encourage you to partner with me to give your child the most powerful and exciting learning experiences possible.

My husband and I have lived in Colorado since 1998 and have two children, a daughter (20) and a son (11). I started my journey in special education when my son was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder at the age of 3. I have a unique perspective as a parent of a child with a disability, as well as my educational background in special education. In my free time,  I am an avid crafter and I will be busy watching my daughter as she enters her sophomore year as a student/athlete playing D1 lacrosse goalie in college. My son keeps us busy with his interests in NASA, Aerospace Engineering, Coding and has recently taken up playing lacrosse and Boy Scouts and loves it! We also have two English Bulldogs, Cooper and Murphy, that bring us so much joy!

I encourage you to contact me anytime at scarlile@lewispalmer.org or call (719) 488-4750 and I will answer as quickly as possible.

“Know me for my abilities, not my disability.”
