  • NPAC DISTRICT MIDDLE SCHOOL TRACK MEET INFO......

Wanted to extend a big thank you to all parents and guardians for all your help and support this track season.  We saw some tremendous growth within our athletes and have an opportunity to showcase at the district meet this Thursday 4/28.  Varsity runners, jumpers, and throwers, were selected through results and trials and unfortunately, only the top 2 can compete.  For those athletes not competing, we recommend that they come (not required) in their track attire, represent the school and cheer on their teammates.  Athletes who are not participating in the district meet will need to find transportation to attend.  Thank you all again and Go Patriots!!

LOCATION:  DISTRICT 20 STADIUM (Liberty High School)

    DATE:  Thursday 4/28

  • ATTENTION:  TRANSPORTATION ISSUE FOR AWAY MEETS.......

    Hello Track Families,

Due to lack of bus availability across the district, we are only allotted one bus for all of our away meets during our track season this year.  Our first meet is this coming Thursday, April 7, at Mountain Ridge Middle School, located at 9150 Lextington Dr. Colorado Springs, CO 80920.  We are in need of any and all parents who are willing to drive or carpool friends to the track meet, as the bus will only carry enough students for less than half of our track team.  If you are willing to drive and carpool, parents will need to be at the north/upper parking lot at 2:45PM to take kids over to Mountain Ridge.  Please send an email response to our Athletic Secretary, Kari Ehresman at kehresman@lewispalmer.org.  Thank you!

  • TRACK AND FIELD OPTIONAL PRACTICE 4/1 2022:  There will be an optional Track and Field practice on Friday 4/1 from 3:00 - 4:15.  This will be completely devoted to field events and will be a great opportunity for athletes to get in more field event practice before our first meet next week.

  • Participation

Track and Field is a unique sport; each athlete will be able to participate in every meet. However, due to the large numbers of participants, they may not always compete in their chosen event. Runoffs and challenges will be held for all the events except the mile and half-mile (these are open events and can have as many participants as want). Depending on which meet we are attending, we may be limited to the number of runners (sprints) and field event participants (2 runners per sprint and 3 per field event). Therefore, only the top two or three will be able to participate in each event for that meet.

The expectation is each athlete will attend all practices and meets. We understand (at times) there may be a conflict that will prevent him/her from attending.  Please be courteous – and send us a note or email regarding your child’s absence (kolgren1@lewispalmer.org).

  • Sign Outs

We are expecting a large number of athletes to participate in track this year and keeping track of your child at away meets is critical; consequently, our transportation policy is strict. Each student will ride the bus to the meet. Only you can sign YOUR child out and take them home. All sign-outs must consist of 2 steps:  1) Locate a coach and check-out with them, 2) Sign the official sign-out sheet, which is located at the LPMS camp.(unless prior arrangements are made – no parent is allowed to take someone else’s child home – email or note).

  • Clothing

Athletes are expected to wear the shorts and Lewis-Palmer Athletics t-shirts to all meets. We would also like them to bring their sweats with them for every meet, as weather changes quickly in Colorado.  Many seventh and eighth graders have the Lewis-Palmer Athletics (track) t-shirts and shorts from Track (last year) or Cross Country (this year).

New students to the school and any student without a t-shirt or shorts will need to purchase one.  See purchase form in resources under documents. These t-shirts may be used for cross country, track, and intramurals both in 7th and 8th grade.

Please make a check out to LPMS and have your child give it to Mrs. Prosseda in the main office. If you are unable to afford a t-shirt and shorts at this time, please don’t hesitate to email me (kolgren@lewispalmer.org).  We do have scholarship funds to help out with this.
