Attendance Boundaries and Non-Transport Areas
Beginning with the 2015-16 school year, the Palmer Lake Elementary School and Palmer Ridge High School attendance areas were expanded to include a small portion of Monument located west of the railroad tracks and south of the Lake of the Rockies subdivision. This change is incorporated in the map below.
Beginning with the 2011-2012 school year, the Board of Education adopted larger non-transport areas. These larger areas around schools, in which bus transportation is not provided, are needed to help reduce the direct impact of financial restrictions on classrooms.
The new policy and bus route changes incorporate the following:
- An approximate one mile non-transport area for elementary schools (expanded from the previous 1/2 mile area)
- An approximate 1.5 mile non-transport area for secondary students (expanded from previous one mile area)
Arrangements must be made in advance through the transportation department for students in non-transport areas to ride the bus from a nearby stop. Please see the transportation page for more information.
Please reference the appropriate link to see the non-transport area around our schools. If you have any questions about whether or not your address is in one of these areas, please contact the transportation office at (719) 488-4711.
