Inspiring Responsible Citizens
Cultivating responsible citizens takes many forms in our schools. LPSD's schools provide a wide range of activities, sports, and clubs which enhance the educational experience for all students. LPSD also provides opportunities for students to achieve both inspirational and challenging goals in a supportive environment.
Some LPSD schools utilize the following acronyms to provide tangible and memorable frameworks of expectations around behavior. These acronyms also provide common language for discussion and learning.
- SOAR (Safe, On-Task, Attitude to Achieve, Respectful and Responsible),
- PRIDE (Persistence, Respect, Initiative, Dependability, Empathy),
- CLASS (Character, Leadership, Academic Achievement, School Involvement, Service to Community).
- Some LPSD schools utilize formal programs such as Rachel’s Challenge, Responsive Classroom, Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), Path2Empathy, and Sources of Strength that support LPSD's mission of creating strong citizens.
Opportunities that enrich academic, athletic, service, and character-related endeavors abound at LPSD. Visit your school’s website for specific offerings.
