Mrs. Diane Jensen

Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Diane Jensen

Mrs. Jensen has been teaching music for 36 years. She is a professional clarinet player and has played in the Colorado Springs Philharmonic from 1976-2000...twenty-four years. Mrs. Jensen has been teaching in District 38 for 23 years. Her assignment at Palmer Lake Elementary allows her to use her diverse training in vocal and instrumental music to teach K-6 vocal music, 6th grade band, and the Cat's Meow Choir. Mrs. Jensen's training includes Orff instruction and attaining her National Certification in Music in 2009 and re-certification in 2019. Students at PLES are getting a solid foundation of music rhythm, melody, harmony, and form and they use those skills singing and playing all through the elementary grades. Being in 6th grade band, students can progress on their chosen instrument and get the benefits of music study, which helps brain development, reading readiness, spacial relationships, and team-building for the 21st century.

  • 5th Graders interested in playing a band instrument in 6th grade should receive information on when and where the district will hold sessions for your "Band Fitting".
