Mr. Butch Eversole
Director of Bands/Academic Chair of Arts and Electives
Raleigh E. Eversole, IV, is the Director of Bands and Academic Chair for Arts and Electives at Palmer Ridge High School. Butch holds a Bachelor of Arts in music education from Shepherd University in West Virginia and a Master of Music in saxophone performance from the University of Northern Colorado. Prior to his position at Palmer Ridge High School, “Butch” taught at Lewis-Palmer High School, Manitou Springs High School and Manitou Springs Middle School. His groups have performed several times at both the CMEA Conference and the Music For All National Festival. He has taught saxophone at Colorado College and conducted at the LeBam International Summer Band Camp in Beirut, Lebanon. He performs throughout Colorado and has appeared with such diverse artists as Carl Fontana, Ernie Watts, the Temptations, Dan Akroyd, Trisha Yearwood, the USAF Academy Band, and the Colorado Springs Philharmonic Orchestra.
Mr. Eversole is the Immediate Past-President of the Colorado Music Educators Association. Other memberships include the Colorado Bandmasters Association, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, and Phi Beta Mu. Mr. Eversole has been nominated by his students to Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers on 5 separate occasions, and is the 2010 Colorado designee in School Band and Orchestra magazine’s “50 Directors Who Make a Difference.” He resides in Monument with his wife, Cynthia (LPES music teacher), and their twin children. In his spare time, Mr. Eversole enjoys ice-fishing in Hawaii.
