The YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region and Lewis-Palmer School District #38 are proud to announce that the Y will provide before and after school care to children at the District’s five elementary schools for the 2016–2017 school year.
With more than 25 years of child care experience in Colorado Springs and surrounding areas, the Y’s Child Care program currently works with five area school districts at 16 elementary schools and is licensed by the State of Colorado Department of Human Services.
“We believe all kids have great potential. That’s why we’re so passionate and excited to provide a safe before and after school program to LPSD children where they can grow and thrive at the highest level.” - YMCA Child Care Executive Director, Estella Baca
Before and After School Care
The Y’s Before and After School Child Care program serves children ages 5–12 with an opportunity to grow and develop outside of their normal school day by participating in activities and adventures that are kid-centric and fun. The staff create a safe and encouraging environment while promoting positive self-esteem and image, life skills, teamwork, leadership, creativity and educational support.
Children absorb knowledge, skills and values from everything and everyone around them. At the Y, we believe time well spent in a fun, safe and supportive environment before and after school is a primary building block for quality of life and future success of children. Children feel connected at the Y where they can make friends and learn how to be their best with the Y’s values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. We promote positive self-esteem, life skills, teamwork, leadership, creativity, and educational support.
