Gifted and talented students are those who show exceptional performance and outstanding abilities, or who demonstrate obvious potential for in-depth advanced academic programs. These students have been identified using a body of assessment evidence. LPHS is committed to providing an educational program that recognizes the unique abilities and educational needs of gifted and talented students and provides appropriate differentiated services and programs to encourage positive character development, high level thinking and creative productivity. Project based, student-directed learning through Mind Works class and advanced Independent Study courses is also encouraged to support our Gifted Ed students. Please visit the Gifted Ed Department page on the District website for more information about support services offered.
